Ready to Rally: 1968 Porsche 912

« Porsche™s 912 has always lived in the shadow of its 911 series siblings, but how about a fully prepared and tested historic road rally example with all paperwork? The seller claims that the reserve is less then the price of the engine rebuild, which is stated at a substantial £9000 GBP. This car has the benefits of UK-style preparation but is a USA left-hand-drive car so it appeals to a much broader audience. Find your best reason to want a 912  in Abingdon, UK. »

« This Bahama Gold example has lead an interesting life, from Stuttgart out to the USA when new and then over to the UK in 2001. Once converted to rally specification the car has competed across Europe and its exploits (with its previous owner Jez Jones) are well reported on various historic rally sites. »

Work in progress.

Here’s my ’66 912 #456243 originally gulf blue and has the original motor and 5-speed. I picked it up in New Mexico for a song last year after it had sat in storage for 15+ years and am in the middle of tearing it down for body work and repaint to original. Its had some chrome added to the engine bay of which I find disgusting as you all probably do aswell, and two gauges added to the dash (oil pressure and volts). I plan to do small very reversible things (wheels, horn grill fog lamps, and racing buckets) but the chrome has got to go for sure.
