Freddyfiles 2017 is all about the squarebacks ! It’s fun to be square ! But also catering for all other aircooled volkswagens !

The annual British invasion of Belgium is officially called the Freddy Files, but is more commonly known simply by its location – Ninove

Now into its 19th year, the Freddy Files is attended by the hardcore of the European VW scene. It’s officially a one-day show, and it’s always a gamble due to the uncertainty of the weather but, come the Sunday, a sleepy little town 20 miles west of Brussells turns the clocks back to the 1960s.

Local shop windows are filled with air-cooled paraphernalia – NOS VW parts boxes, genuine accessory wheels and all kind desirable objects – as the whole town gets in the mood. In fact, any non air-cooled car left in the town by 8am on the Sunday morning is removed by the police! Imagine that happening in the UK.

For many of us Brits heading to the show, it all begins on Saturday morning at Folkestone Chunnel terminal. Once in France, everyone congregates at the Bonjour services before heading to Ninove, but more importantly the Witkap brewery!
